Ever since the last update to the youtube app, I've been having nothing but problems using it. While some parts of the app work as expected, lother parts of it cause the app to crash, taking me back to my home screen. The home area of the app works fine when swiping between items, but when you go in to the library, and go in to favorites, history, or any playlists that you've created, the app will crash when you are swiping threw videos. Explore by touch has the same result. Until google fixes this serious issue with the app and voiceover, are there any alternitivers that I can use on my phone? Its an IPhone SE, running the lastest version of IOS.

The only other one I know is Uplayer. it used to be really great, now it's only reasonably great. Has trouble playing videos properly when you switch from portrait to landscape, and it doesn't show all your subscriptions' latest videos properly in the appropriate section. Otherwise it works well and is pretty easy to use.

I haven't had any of the issues that you're mentioning, though granted I'm using an iPhone 7. Have you thought about trying to uninstall and then reinstall the youtube app before you consider switching to an alternate?

I've tried removing the app and putting it back on my phone, still getting the crashing issue. As for u player, I did look in to that one, but found that it won't let you sign in to your account, unless I'm missing something. Google see its sign in page as an imbedded user agent, and won't let you do anything after that.

Really? I've never had trouble signing into UPlayer. Wonder if something's changed with it lately. Just installed and signed into it on my Ipad about a month and a half ago.

Alright, I did some researching for you. I even spoke to someone else who has an iPhone SE, who also said they're not experiencing the issues you're experiencing. So, why don't you try a few more things with the youtube app such as the following:
1. Try a soft reset. A soft reset can be done with the iPhone SE probably by pressing down the home and power button. Just keep those held down until the iPhone restarts.
2. Check your storage. If you've got a crapton of songs, photos, movies etc, there might not be enough room for the app to run properly. I always suggest keeping at least one GB free if possible.
3. Close a lot of your open apps in the app switcher. That alone might help resolve the situation if those apps are using a lot of your phone's ram.
4. Honestly, if options one, two and three don't work, consider resetting your entire phone and see if that might help. Obviously, that option should be a last resort.
Good luck!

I have tried the above options that were suggested, with no change to the youtube app. On closer observation, I've noticed that the crash is only effecting playlists such as favorites or a playlist that is user created.

Well, I'm quite honestly at a loss. I suppose you can try to send feedback to google via the youtube app. Explain to them the best possible ways of reproducing the bug, which device you're using etc. It does sound rather weird.

After reading the reviews on the iTunes store, it seems that I'm not the only one having issues with the latest update to the youtube app. Several other people have also reported that it crashes and is just plane glitchy.
